Hi all, this machine doesn't seem to be taking in enough water, we are having to supplement water intake via the detergent drawer! The drain hose is at correct height (bend at top of machine). Any ideas chaps?

I have done an extensive search on this site and have found plenty of 'keeps filling' and 'won't fill at all' faults but no 'only half fills'! Could this be a faulty valve?
My understanding of WMs is that they will keep filling until a certain level is achieved via a level sensor - so a poor fill valve woudln't stop the level being achived; it would just take longer. Or am I wrong and the valve opens for a set time and then closes assuming the necessary intake is achieved. Get my drift?
