Hello,
I am new to the forum. I wanted some advice please.
I have an integrated Zanussi ZBB 28650SA frost free fridge freezer which is about 4 years old.
The fridge has just stopped cooling. The freezer works fine. I watched some videos on you tube which showed me how to replace the relay which I have done today. The fridge seemed to start Cooling but then stops. Can anyone give me any advice where to go next please?
I really thought changing the relay would work as the old one showed signs of burning (Brown marks). I appreciate any advice.
Thank you.

Hi John,
Thanks for your reply.
Yes, it is frost free I have read most of the threads I think.
I left it off unplugged with both doors open in our conservatory for four days. So I am sure it was fully defrosted, to be honest there was not a lot of ice to melt , not as much as I have seen on some of the videos I have seen. It took four days for me to get the part as I ordered online and it came by post.
It is working now but it does not stay cold. It was 2 degrees C last night and down to 0degrees C this morning but warmed up to 10 degrees and is now 12 degrees C. There is no thermostat that I can see in the fridge nor can I see a timer in the fridge, just a light. There is a fan at the top of the freezer and what I think are 2 thermostats. I changed the relay which is on the side of the compressor but did not change a capacitor which is next to the relay. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Not much.

With frostree it's often clogged ducts. The motor starter (like a relay) sometimes fails.

If the freezer had failed I'd wonder if your conservatory was so cold that the fridge stat had turned off, but if the motor's running I don't think it's that.

You've used up all the faults I've experienced!

Ok John, thanks for you quick response. Looks like I will have to either call somebody in to have a look at it or replace it.
Thanks for taking the time to reply to me.
Have a good Christmas!

Sometimes a leak develops and the refrigerant gas leaks out. If this has happened it is beyond economic repair, but 4 years is not a long life. My BiL is an HVAC engineer and won't repair domestic units, they are sealed for life and welded shut in the factory, and he says no field repair will be as good.
