Does anyone know why, when our washer reaches the spin cycle it spins in short bursts only, it wont do a continuous spin? have scanned through some other posts and it seems like it could be something to do with the balance, do you think it is? if so what do i do to put it right? thanks.

Hi,I had a similar problem with my machine some time
ago and I called an engineer who changed a very large
capacitor at the top of the machine and it's been ok since

Cheers for that Heathcliff,
Any engineers out there that would agree that that could be the problem?
Any ideas on price and if its simple to fit?
I was just about to go and by a new machine but I'll leave it A little longer while I'm checking this out.

Hi, I notice that you have had no reply from experienced
people so as I have exactly the same machine as you I've
opened it up to have a look see. To remove the top of the
m/c undo the 2 hexagonal screws at the back which secure
the top.Slide the top off by pushing it to the rear.Trace the
power cable,i.e. Live,Neutral and Earth to a black connector
block (approx in the middle top). There is a metal cross
member left to right just above this block.Just to the right
and underneath the metal member is a circular component
which is a capacitor probably secured by a plastic tie strap
to the metal cross member. It has 2 push-on connectors,
pull these off, take out the capacitor and get it checked
by a local engineer. It cured my problem and I hope it cures
yours. If not you havn't lost anything as they don't cost very much'
Anyway all the best
