Zanussi WJS-1397 not stopping after cycle

I have a Zanussi WJS-1397 washer-dryer. It washes, rinses and spins fine. When it should stop at the end of the cycle, the dial continuies onto another cycle (whites \\\'D\\\' then onto colours \\\'J\\\' and colours \\\'J\\\' then onto woolwash \\\'M\\\').

If I set the tumble-dryer timer, it will wash, rinse, spin, tumble-dry and then go onto the next cycle.

About a month ago I changed powder from Ariel Biological to Ariel Colour.

Any ideas what is wrong with my zanussi?

You need a new or exchange reconditioned timer. If you want to fit this yourself I can give you some instructions.
A couple of mistakes in my origional posting:

The new soap powder is Ariel sensative , I don't know if that make much of a difference

It is still doing wash->rinse->spin->dry->going onto the next program on the dial.

Some of the time however it is doing wash->rinse (sometimes 1 rinse and sometimes the full 2 rinses)->spin->when it should go onto dry or stop (if no drying time is set) it then starts to spin again taking it past the end of program line.
