Hi all. I've installed this Zanussi hob, I've wired it myself. I am not a qualified electrictian.
I've installed a 40A cooker outlet plate and then used a 6mm t&e cable from the outlet plate to the hob.
Whilst testing the hob using the manufactuer instructions the steel on the hob became red hot all over. I've since tested just one ring. The steel was also red hot around the ring. I mean 'not able to touch for a second' hot.
I would expect some heat directly around the ring but not at the edge of the steel.
There is no heat in the cable and nothing trips on the circuit board. I've posted on the electrical forum and the suggestion is the wiring is OK.
I've connected the cooker today on the same outlet plate and everything seems to be OK.
The suggestion is the hob is faulty? Has anyone had any experience of this?
TIA.
