Good afternoon. I would like to re paint a bathroom door which is painted with some gloss paint. I wanted to give it a quick sanding down to create a key for my two coats but I have been advised on using a coat of Zinsser 1-2-3 to get a good adhesion to my two coats of paint. Does it sound right to you. Thank you for your time

I use BIN aqua as sticks better and faster cure vs bullseye 123. It's probably the best waterbased adhesion primer...
Zinsser BIN is also good if you don't mind the solvent smell. Foam roller is good for application, but you need to be quick as is rapid drying.
It's poor opacity and off white so benefits with applying a coat of waterbased primer over the top.

So either.
One or two costs of BIN aqua.
Or
One zinsser BIN and one acrylic primer.
Or
Bullseye 123 two costs.

Up to you.

I would use a medium to fine steel wool to clean and also provide a good key for your repaint. After providing an excellent key I would hoover all over with an upholstery brush to ensure no fine steel remains. My time saving method is both quick and clean to enable repainting straight away(y)
