I picked up 2.5l of Permawhite satin finish today, for a bathroom ceiling. I hadn't realised there was a matt version, espeically as it's regarded as such a tough paint.

Will satin look good on the ceiling, or too shiney? I see Zinsser recommend it for use on woodwork, which is certainly more glossy than I would like for the ceiling.

Thanks

I'd only ever use a matt on a ceiling, incidentally I used the PermaWhite in the bathroom, a great paint, really bright. Amazon were cheapest.

I was inclined to agree. Returned it and got a tin of matt.

Everything I read says it's going to be the best paint I ever bought, so I hope its right!

One thing I observed, a fair few Amazon reviews suggesting it was quite thin and it did take a lot of really thorough stirring as you could feel it was really stodgy on the bottom beforehand so I suspect those reviewers had not stirred it enough.

I shall give it plenty of stirring! I read reviews saying the coverage isn't great, but my ceiling already has white trade matt, so hopefully 2 coats of PermaWhite and it will be bulletproof, as they say. Maybe the reviews I saw were from people who didn't stir it properly.
