Hi all, have just rebuilt, recommissioned and started up the vented central heating and hot water system in the loft, due to having to relocate tanks and cylinder for a loft conversion. I now have hot water but no c heating... The zone valve doesn't seem to move much, my question is, how far- in degrees- should the 'mechanical' bit of the valve move? I'm only getting about 10-15 deg, is this enough? PLEASE don't tell me I have to drain the system... AGAIN!!! thanks, Tim.

would help if you said what make, wouldn't it!!

SOme go 180 degrees, Honeywell ones very little, maybe about 30.
If it's a H, the balls can expand a bit and go soft. Try forcing it to its end stops, which can help. But not toooo hard, I've broken them before now.
