My boiler is currently having pressure problems, the pressure gauge seems to be correct but the digital pressure display can differ up to 2 Bar, which causes the boiler to lock out with pressure problems. I have had the pressure sensor replaced and it is getting worse!! I even have had a replacement boiler and am still having the same problems as are my neighbours on the same development. Anyone else having similar problems???

If there is one, are you sure that it's connected to the central heating, as the digital display is, and not connected to the cold mains or the domestic hot water pipework?
Could it be that the expansion vessel needs the air charge topping up?
the preasure sensor is either in accurate, or blocked. if its the black type, i would recomend upgrading it to the hubba version, however you will need to replace the pcb.

In that case, I'd follow jasonvaughan's advice.
It's is interesting that it may have become blocked, twice, and that your neighbours' boilers are suffering a similar fault.
On commercial systems it is normal practice to fit a syphon tube on the inlet to a pressure gauge or sensor in order to stop any debris in the water getting into the instrument. The syphon is a 'U'-shaped or 'O'-shaped piece of tube which is intended to trap an air pocket between the water and the instrument inlet. The air transmits the pressure to the gauge/sensor, but the dirty water doesn't get into it. Design fault methinks.
when the boiler locks out what is the code on the display?. it should not lock out when the gauge reaches 2

i would look to see if your system is so large that it needs an external expansion vesel ! as the built in one on the powermax can only cope with a maximum amount of rads !

As you specialise in powermax`s do you carry the kit to remove broken burner bolts out of the range versions.

we do carry the gear to drill out the old burner screws and replace the hank nuts
to poxi
what do you think of the new ally hank nuts, much easier to form than the old ones

wish i had one as i got a right ear full when i had to turn some ladies heating off because a previous engineer not a potterton one had broken the bolt and i couldnt do anything but turn it off and label it as per our recent memo !
