got a call out to be greeted by this, only this flat is connected up at present

Service fuse also blown, I presume a poorly fitted live conductor load side on the isolator caused arching and melting and then the two terminals eventually touched causing the service fuse to blow. I cannot think of another cause.

Original sparkies won't come out as not been paid and no certificates issued. Dno will have to do the 1361. The customer wants me to connect up other 5 flats??.

I've said no as i have no idea where cables are run within the flats and did not design or install in the other flats. I was tempted to test all the other flats and then connect but i have walked away.

right choice??

Had a batch of isolators do the same turned out the threads not cut correct so although the terminals felt tight they were not gripping cable and once they had heated up and cooled down they became slack so one poor guy got sack over it.
Leant lesson always screw terminals in and out first to ensure they are free.
