can anyone explain why my lights go dim then back to normal also have to replace bulbs every week

more details needed.

go dim after how long? how dim? do they go dim when usin a high powered appliance (i.e shower)? do the bulbs blow every week? are they the cheepo bulbs? is it the same in all rooms or just 1 room?

Well, i was aware that i was caused by a excess power demand therefore causing the national grid in your area to drop its voltage (hence the dimming) from maybe 20,000 people putting there kettle on in the break of corrie, eastenders...

It comes back to normal because, the extra generator kicks in at the power station, or 20,000 kettles have finished boiling.

Well this could be down to poor light bulbs..ie cheap...

Try some of them energy saving ones, or some nice Osram ones that are £1 each and not 10 for £1.

I think you pay for what you get with light bulbs. Cheap ones dont like the on / off / on /off / on.
