Isn't it normal practice in commercial premises to install minimum 10ka breakers regardless of measured PFC? I know it shouldn't break any regs, but I dont want to upset the DNO, there has already been a 9month wait for connection through small miss communications. Thanks

My tester only came with a plug lead, or i could use the lead from my loop tester but only the earth lead can have a croc clip on it, making it pretty awkward to carry out test.

Whats the best method for this? I've been lashing in a socket outlet on to a lighting point and plugging the tester into that. Cheers

I've called in and paid for the DI scheme with the NICEIC today. My question is (sorry if it's been asked previously, couldn't find a thread) But how have you guys dealt with carrying out your works to be inspected before actually being registered? Have you notified and paid the council...

You can't do it unless you inform the council first and pay them a fee,(probably around £300) which will be more than a sparky will charge. Also it's not that straight forward a job, and your old parts/cables should be thrown away really and replaced with new ones.

I have contacted ikea who weren't best pleased, and i've threatened the kitchen fitters manager with court proceedings for various electrical regs breaches. He's already offered a refund of £2500 but I think I'm going to get get a full refund for all kitchen fitting works. thanks for help
