room stat cover has been missing for a while!!! decided to change today as wires exposed.... there was one cable there, twin and earth 3 core, a live, neautral and an earth.... switched my spur off and changed like for like.... switched spur back on and heating fires up but goes off...

alright fellas, in college still but i'm fine at everything apart from my fault finding could be a bit better!! just interested in your methods if say i had continuity on neutral and earth but not live?? just a case of checking all sockets for loose connection? what about no...

Fan not working in the bathroom?? fed from bathroom light to tansformer and from there to the fan... what you guys reckon? got 230 going into the transformer

An electrician stated that on my upstairs lighting circuit between neutral earth he recorded 0.00...all above 15mohms for other circuits.. how dangerous is this? and what would happen if it stayed on sysytem, itsbeen working fine for 10 years ta

what type of fixings would you fine men use if putting a tube light on a suspended ceiling...like the tile type :?: ta

hey guys just clear this one up for me please!!! i live in flats and the rear outside light has stopped workin, i went to wholesalers and asked for a 70 w son lamp?? but it didint work even though i measured electricity at the bulb holder??? after some investigation am i right in thinking...

seen in a house today...a new board which the kitchen ring had been rewired to but spurred from the 32 A mcb was the electrics for the boiler...this went to a fused spur which had a 3 A fuse protecting it is that ok? just didnt seem right to me :?

copper pipes from taps 6 inches then into a valve and from there plastic piping to bond or not to bond? xxx

am i right in thinking...installed new shower 9.5 kw...plus whats already on the installation 2 * lighting 6A 1 * ring main 32 A 1*immmersion 16A 1* socket oulet radial 16A 1*cooker 32A plus new shower 40A = 148Amps....the service fuse says on 60A???? giving way for diversity...

just changed my board to a split load type and sockets were ok for maybe a minute then the rcd tripped and wont reset?? :roll: changed the ring circuit to the non rcd protected side and its fine...any ideas??? cheers

Recently had to turn all water to house off for repairs....water is heating fine but the readiators are not heating up?? :?: :oops: any ideas?

abit of advice, a friend wants a cooker fan installing and i was going to put itin a fused spur but the socket was already has a spur off it...can i spur off the same socket twice or is this a no no??? cheers lads n lasses :wink:

Hi hope one of two of you can clear a few things up for me. Left school and went to college for two years and gained the 2351 level 3 in electrical installation engineering and 2381 16th edition. that was in 2004. Couldnt get work to complete my nvq 3 but only now have i managed to gain...

Fitting a a new drum type light in the bathroom...i'll wire flex to the appliance and then then connect the main lighting wires in a connector block... what wires go where in the block though, i don't want to mess it up? :roll: cheers
