As TCC and Dan mentions, Your NVQ level 3 doesn't get you gas safe. Whole other qualification. You need to go onto a gas foundation course, do lots of hours out with a gas engineer to build a portfolio of a wide range of gas work, then using that be accepted to sit the ACS. Once passed that then apply to Gas Safe for your ticket.
And then you start learning.
