It's more of a brickwork question than an electrical question but I can't see where else it fits so here goes.

I've got a few sockets with knockout boxes with exposed cable.

I wanna replace them with nice flush plug sockets and hide the cable behind skirting board.

That's going to involve knocking small chunks out of my (all brick) interior walls for the new sockets.

I can be sure there's no pipes/cable near where I need to work. I dont' plan on knocking about walls supporting lintels.

Is there anything else I need to consider before chipping out bits of wall?

I don't really want to use hammer and chisel. :) Should I hire a chasing tool or more specialized tool for the job?

TIA.

I assume the walls are plaster or render finished?
You will find a hammer and chisel is often the less messy way to go about this, you can use a SDS drill and chisel bit, sometimes I use a grooving chisel to run along the chase. I would not recommend that you use a wall chaser.
You must follow permitted safe zones so check this link out //www.diynot.com/wiki/electrics:installation_techniques:walls.
Also if you intend to fit the socket-outlet plates that are flush to the wall, 35mm back boxes will be needed. If it's just the standard socket-outlet plates you will get away with 25mm boxes.

Vertical chases should not be deeper
than one-third of the wall thickness or
in cavity walls one-third of the
thickness of the leaf. Horizontal chases
should not be deeper than one-sixth of
the thickness of the leaf or wall.
Chases should not be so positioned as
to impair the stability of the wall
particularly where hollow blocks are
used.
