I know you can get a 3amp type B MCB, but does anyone know if there is such a thing as a 3amp RCBO type B?

Depending on the make. you might get a "pod" to fit on a 3 amp mcb

It's for linked smoke and heat detectors on a deadicated circuit.

6A RCBOs are becoming more common as a unit.
I know MEM make the pods which fit their MCBs, not sure if they do a 3A flavour - think they do a 1A, 2A and 4A.

The Vigi modules done by the Schneider group Telemecanique allow you to convert their range of MCB’s to RCBO’s and there are variable overloads and RCD’s but the rules say ordinary persons must not be able to alter these devices so the panel has to be locked and they are not normally used in Domestic consumer units.

the MEM ones, once snapped together, are supposed to be permanently fixed.

It seem to be more hassel than it's worth, so I'll stick with using a 6amp B-type RCBO.
