Hi. as a newbie i'd like to tap your vast knowledge (creep, creep)
I have a 7 year old Worcester combi boiler which has been serviced for the past seven years with no problem by B gas. After qouting us an extortianate amount for a chimney flue we decided to ditch B gas and get a flue fitted by an outside contractor (corgi reg.) for a fraction of the price.
Anyway now the boiler is playing up now we have no contract!!
The symptoms are after the c/h has been on for some time, and a demand is put in for h/w the boiler tends to click on and off in quick succession, as though it's turning on and off every few seconds and a loud thudding noise eminates from the boiler although as yet the c/h and h/w are fine. I f either are turned off this usually allows it to settle down, and if only one is on then there is usually hardly any problem.
Is this a sign of some major impending doom or a relatively cheap repair as I' m reluctant to get Bgas in again as I would probably be paying through the nose!
Hope you can help, cheers.
