But en-masse ? That implies a large failing of something over the last 2 or so generations. Or was it always there in such large numbers?
Good question. I don't know the answer.

I know that only very few people (proportionately) have never had a mother.

I know that most people know someone who has died.

I believe that the information age has generated new opportunities for mass hysteria, albeit mild.

This is hypocritical bullsh*t.

People feel sorry for her merely because as a community we've derided and belittled her during her entire celebrity life.

Is it sad? Yes.

Is it sadder because she has children that she adores? Yes.

Is it sadder than anyone else who's suffering/dying from cancer? No.
sad because of her age and the children involved, she's not asking for sympathy,
it's something natural decent people feel in these situations, pal

Maybe, most people don't know enough people who have died due to increased life expectancies. Hence the need to partake in easily available opportunities - maybe it's an innate requirement to offload grief from the matriarchal separation you referred to?

On both sides of the mirror line, in a rotational sort of way.

my point apart from all the othe deaths Ive had experience.

was that of my Wife 8 yrs ago.

we were married 3 months.

hopefully Ive gone around grieving over that.

but how do you come to terms with that?

I dont know the answer, but I did, but in this day and age, how are people able to cope?

You know her personally? Or, like the rest of us, through gawking at her through the media?

Condolences. Nothing I can say can be of any relevance to you, and I wouldn't want to cause any offence by trying.
