salamander ct 50 1.5 bar twin impellor shower booster pump.
located on floor in airing cupboard at base of hw cylinder.

cold and hot water in and out are DEFINATELY CONNECTED to the designated hot and cold water ports on the pump
connected to hw cylinder with surrey flange. hot water cylinder has a separate 50 gallon tank at same height as cw tank in loft.
hw supply 22mm for approx 700mm reduced to 15mm for last 500 mm
3 metres head of cold water from 50 gallon tank in loft space. supply run on 22mm.
no valves to restrict cw and hw feeds

from pump to shower valve both cw and hw feeds run in 15mm. both fitted with standard 15mm ballfix valves just behind the shower valve in compliance with recommendations for servicing.
All pipework flushed before connecting the pump.

When shower valve opened... pump starts to run. When shower valve is closed pump is still running?

Is the pump faulty???
Or is the head of water causing it not to switch off when the shower valve is closed?

cold water supply only serves shower in bathroom, en-suite shower and cold water service to bath.
Is a single check valve essential?
will trybleeding all ppipework again just to check that that isn't the problem.

You only need a check valve on the h/w outlet if the pump is above the HWS cylinder.
hot water cylinder has a separate 50 gallon tank at same height as cw tank in loft.
Manufacturers installation instructions clearly state that multiple cws tanks must be connected at the base (28mm) otherwise the h/w c/w pressure switches may get confused due to unequal static pressure.
Are you saying the pumped c/w supply serves 3 locations or the cws tank?
How far below the cws tank is the shower head mounted?
Do you have up & over pipe work from the pump into the loft & then back down to the mixer valve?
Not sure why & where you’ve reduced the h/w feed from 22mm down to 15mm!

Tis sorted. Ran up outlet from shower valve to approximate locaton of fixed head. Temporarilly pieced in some 15mm back down to a bucket and opened the shower valve, left it running while I restored electrical supply to pump. Now its operating fine. Turning off and on when shower mixer is turned on n off. Already another booster pump under bath in separate en-suite and no problems re. non co-joined tanks (dedicated cold and dedicated hot) Have taken note of fact that both tanks should be joined with 28mm and will take action to rectify.
Thanks for the advice folks!
