Can anyone help me i am getting desperate to get my dryer working. It was repaired less than a year ago (dropped drum and the thermostats) and recently the heat stopped working again, A friend replaced the thermostats but still no heat. Any suggestions as to what we can do next. The heating elements seem okay, no bends or breaks. As a pensioner i cant afford to call out repairmen but a friend is willing to help if he can. Where do we look next for problems regarding the heat. Living in a flat my dryer is one of the most important appliances i have. Thanks in advance. :(

I believe your model has a pump fitted to the rear to pump the water up to a collection tank.

Next to the pump is a float valve which will turn the heater off if it senses too much water in the condensation resevoir

Common causes are allowing the condenser to get blocked, fluff then builds up restricting airflow, quite often the one shot thermostat goes,
If the cause is not sorted out though it progresses
water builds up in the reservoir and can not be pumped out because the pump becomes clogged (eventually failing, it sounds rough at first) the float lifts up and damp fluff settles under the float preventing it from lowering when the water level does drop

Machine usually works ok after a good clean out of pump housing and water guide ways from the condenser and the condenser should be cleaned out of ALL rubbish

If you are unlucky the heater element will have got damp and the mica sheets will snap or the electricity can track across the mica to the earthed metalwork.

Thank you very much for the reply. Although i do clean the filters and condenser on a regular basis i will check out the area you have mentioned to see if there is a problem there. Whether this solves the problem or not i will come back here and let you know. Many thanks again.

The model is a TDC 30. I have tried throwing it on the floor and it reset but when put backin dryer still doesnt heat up. Any other ideas please. Thanks

check the heater with a meter .they can break internaly . 2 other ideals .there is a front stat by the door open it up and its at the top 2 little screws hold it in.if you replace that and still no heat .then the timer is shot no live feed from the timer to heater.

Have no way of testing the heater but will check out the front stat. I take it your talking about the front under the top lid of the dryer. Lets hope that will solve the problem. Many thanks for your help.
