At our age (40s +) you can't afford to keep lighting up and disregarding the consequences. It will catch up with you if you don't stop!

I have had a few health problems going back over the last few years (not smoking related, though) but things do have a nasty habit of smacking you in the kisser when you're not looking...

and some people who smoke 30+ /day die of old age i.e 80+ not cancer?

I honestly believe they blame too much on smoking just because its easy to blame.

smoking isnt the only cause, it does occur in the general population. asbestos and, i think, viruses can cause it too.

genetics. some people are resistant to lung cancer the same way others dont put weight on no matter what they eat

Congrats mate, I only wish that I could give up. I've tried everything including Champix - waste of time IMHO. Going to try ( again ) the Nicorette inhalator. After smoking for 45 years, I need all the help that I can get.
I tried the Alan Carr method, but to me, that was a waste of time and lots of money, so any tips ( scuse the pun ) would be grateful.

I had my last puff on Valentines Day so I’m only just in front of you. I couldn’t face the thought of kicking fags and then having to kick the patches so I opted for the cold turkey route.

I’ve not killed anyone yet but it’s been close. Stick with it, I'm feeling better already.

Well done Bahco. I will follow your lead and get to a year which I think does officially make you a non-smoker.

you might give up but it takes a long time to lose the urge

i chucked it for 2 year then started again
