Hi,

My boiler often has a spell where it fires up for a few seconds then the main flame and pilot goes out then immediately fires up again, it can do this for ages. I have noticed that whilst lit the pilot lit indicator flickers on and off which kind of suggests that it is loosing a signal to tell it the pilot is lit. I can't see any thermocouple though or any thing else that detects the pilot flame,

Please help

cheers Stew

Sounds like the 90d elbow off the aps is cracked.

Thanks for the reply, but what is the aps?

cheers Stew

Just had a thought that aps is air pressure switch, I will have a look at this,

Btw is that how the boiler knows that the pilot is lit ?

No mate, it uses flame rectification back down the ign electrode and lead.

Heytesto you are a star, thanks very much, its been bugging me for ages
