hi i removed a radiator, closed the valves first, maybe im over cautious but the remaining radiators sound a bit noisier, i can hear the water running in, will that settle? :?

have you still got 1 bar of pressure in the boiler?

i read online all i had to do was shut valves and remove the rad. Im not a plumber! i havent touched the water pressure, but its sitting at nothing, will i have to get a plumber. Ps the radiators, hot water are all working fine.

Just to add to Kevplumb's comment, many filling loops have two valves and they both need to be open for the water to flow from the mains into the heating system. Let water in until it reaches 1-1.5 bar on the gauge. If you need to bleed the radiators again, make sure you top up the pressure afterwards.

hi thanks for your advice, though i wasnt sure what one bar cold meant -did you mean with the heating off? I turned the two taps a little til pressure went up, then put them back where they were originally is it that correct, seems ok now,
thanks again, jeanette
ps i dont normally mess with what i dont know, but i really thought i just had to take the rad off.

That's right, heating off and all rads gone cold.

Yes that's right.

We all knew nothing once - no harm in learning!

hi the pressure dropped back down again earlier, should i just do the same again, or do i need to try something else, the heating is working ok though, can i still use it with the low pressure?
thanks
jeanette

Did you bleed the other radiators? Top it up again and see what happens over the next day or so - if it drops, you may have a leak somewhere, but at present, it's too early to say.

check the valves on the rad you removed ain't leaking

Especially if one of them is a thermostatic valve!

seen it done

by the opposition filled the system then removed the rads to stop them being had away

and it was mentioned that the valves where thermostatic

na it's ok came the reply

it was frosty that night

not as frosty as their boss when he saw the damage the next morning

they had my sympathy
