I don't think that even north korea would be that stupid..

they timed the "tests" just right to coincide with what are usually slow news days.

it's just a show of force for things to come.. they want the world to know that they have nuclear capabilityes and long range missiles..

they will most likely do something stupid in the near future like invading south korea..

there's a reason that it's called MAD... Mutually Assured Destruction... one missile goes up, and all the missiles go up..

there will be no winners.. only survivors..

Its a bit idealist I know but I don't think any country should have nuclear weapons. However, why is it that the Americans seem to think they have some God given right to carry a big stick but no one else can be trusted to carry one? This coming from the only country to have used an atomic weapon against another country!

Fortunately for the Yanks, most of their nuclear possession age has occured through times of plenty. They have ony used their nuclear might as a preventive force, as shown during the Japanese conflict. Had they not dropped the 'big-un', it is true to say, many more millions would have died.

However, Korea are flexing their nuclear muscles during a world recession and during a time where there are uncertainties as to where the next gallon of petrol is coming from.....

They dropped two not one. Different designs too to see which killed more 'nips'.

Maybe a solution?

Say every country was given a nuclear launch button regardless of who they are with one exception they can only use it to launch missiles that are directed towards them.

Wonder who'd dare press first :D

that's exactly what the current situation is..

every nuclear capable country knows that should they press the button, it would ensure their own total anhialation from the automatic retaliatory strikes that would be launched minutes after theirs..

But there are peeps out there who don't care about dying - they want to die whilst taking out as many of their "enemy" as possible. How do we deal with this?

You missed my point, they could only press for their own destruction, this applies to all countries that want to retaliate ;)

Yes exactly right, different types of location too, if this is not experimenting with people then I don't know what is.
It was the biggest crime against humanity ever, peace loving nation? never in a million years.

had the two bombs been dropped on military targets say at sea to show their power then that may have been acceptable but to drop them on two highly populated cities of civilians thats outrageous.

had the two bombs been dropped on military targets say at sea to show their power ......

Later the targets may not have been military, but they did exactly that. The Pacific islands tests.

Still totally unacceptable and grossly polluting.

I consider the bombs dropped on Japan acceptable but the testing since outrageous.
Had the A bombs been dropped on military targets Japan wouldn't have flinched IMO and the war would have dragged on claiming millions of lives.

You have to note, that it took 2 Atom bombs on civilian populations before they surrendered, one was not enough to stop them.

As Norcon says, had military targets been selected, the Japanese would have fought on. Millions more could have died.

Taking the Chaos theory into account, if they had fought on, who posting on here would never have been born.........

Pre-emptive strike. Its the only way to eradicate the problem permanently.

So what if South Korea suffers too. They are only dog eaters who inflict Daewoo (Chevrolet badged) cars on the rest of the world. No loss.
