gas pipework

hi i want to put a gas cooker in my kitchen and the gas boiler is in the kitchen so when i turn off the gas at the meter and cut in the gas pipe in the kitchen how do i purge out any gas thats left in the pipework before i solder in a tee. can anyone help thanks

if an installer is going to T in he will purge the pipework for you, but you will also need him to fit the cooker. it does state in your post that you are cutting into the pipe work, hence my reply

I originally read the post wrong and thought OP meant once the pipework had been completed, once i read it a few times i realised my error. Am not going to tell OP how to purge tho! :LOL: I have edited my answer about the meter too as I am telling the OP far to much
 
yea purge rig when the installation is done, but what i asked is before i solder in the tee how do i release the gas left in the pipework can any one else help please
