Couldnt find this question anywhere in the forum,

I have a loft conversion with some limited loft space left behind where I would like to put a light in. My problem is I cant find any lighting wiring to connect to but have a junction box nearby from the mains wall sockets. Can I connect the wiring to this junction box thro a switch . What size wiring do I need?
4mm T+E to the spur switch(3A) and then 2.5mm T+E to the flourescent light(36W). Is this OK?

By spur switch i presume you mean the switch fused conector? You can use 1.0 or 1.5 t&e for all the wiring.

Except the section from the ring to the FCU. This must not be less than the csa of the cable used to form the ring (or radial).

Thank for the info,

so its 4mm T+E to a fused(3A)switch then 1.5mm T+E to the flourescent light.
