What A Bunch Of *******s

It's a bit more complicated than that, because the dispute arises over additional health problems that these soldiers have developed, as distinct from the original injuries.

Whether or not the MoD is in the right over this, they should never have got involved in challenging the payments as it looks petty and mean spirited, especially at such a time as this.

If they were a commercial organisation, they would realise that the bad publicity they will get would cost far more than they could save from clawing back payments to injured soldiers.

The system needs an overhaul, and service personnel and their families should be given proper compensation for injury, without argument.

If a fireman stubs his toe playing volleyball he gets a fat pension and early retirement.

If women can get 100's of 1,000s in compensation because someone hurts their feelings, why shouldn't soldiers get more money for their injuries.

I must admit that in the 60s and 70s you joined the services for a career, apart from northern Ireland wars never come into it ( I was one of them) but these days, if you sign up you should know that your going to get shot at at some stage.

In reality as sh#te as it is when people sign up they should know that they may end up dead or worse and the compensation levels are already there for all to see.
But after sitting with a few 16 year olds at there army interviews and one lad sitting staring at pictures on walls says to me "do you think i might have to shoot someone???"" Eh yeah. "OH"
Sits there for a few minutes then asks me does that mean someone may shoot at me...... For fek sake son what do you think your joining.
Frightening that even after all that has been on the news some kids are that thick they have not got a clue what they are signing up for

If they hadn't suffered these injuries on behalf of Queen and Country they probably would not have developed these complications.

Give them the money and all the help they need FFS!

Yes they do know they may well get shot at and they may have to take the life of another. So isn't it right and fair that if it happens they should be cared for appropriately?

How many of you sitting there in your comfy chairs can say with hand on heart they would sign up tomorrow if they were younger.

I couldn't.

I have had nightmares after reading these threads. Does anyone know the number for lawyers direct I am going to sue?

16 year old kids dont think about compensation and what may happen if they get a leg blown off.

i almost joined myself when i was on the dole and bored of life. i only had two people to ask advice about it. my stepuncle who was in the army at the time and loved it, and a mate of a mate who hated it and deliberately got himself booted out for drugs offences.

i still regret not doing it, i think i would have loved it.

Sorry for my attitude, but there's too many mugs about today, being treated by your government and doing what your told, keep doing it, the MPs have sneaked another in, £25 for an overnighter no reciepts needed

War doesn't discriminated against age or even competence. If your in the wrong place at the wrong time by God!
Fortunately we have now and always have had fine set of servicemen and woman that will do there bit for Queen and Country.
The sad thing is that we can't supply these fine people with the correct equipment to do the job.
But we can supply dole scrounging layabouts and bogus disability living allowance claimers with 5 bedroom detached houses and BMWs.
But can't look after the brave pre and post battle!

Exactly!
