Next door had a new boiler fitted. Its in the flat roof part of the house. The old one was there, fitted before our conservatory.

Our conservatory was built, but this then made their flue contrary to regs (theres a window opener directly opposite where the flue comes out, a 10 inch gap seperates the two extensions - we never opened the window)

So the guy who fitted the boiler has tried to do something about it by extending the flue exhaust upwards as shown in the photo. Clearly this is an improvement, but something about it just doesn't look right. All the windows up top are openers, both next door and our house.

Cheers.

My opinion only; if the flue is on his land it is OK as you have shown it to me. Apure vertical flue through the roof would have been preferable but more expensive.

absolutely fine and very thoughtful I'd say as they've clearly made sure the plume doesn't cause you a nuisance.
btw its called a plume management kit.

Looks absolutely fine. I think you should be grateful your neighbour did not give you a lot of hassle for building your conservatory in such a way that it caused problems for him

to be fair to OP the original flue should not have been cose to an imaginary line up to which a neighbour could extend. Though it was very common it was never allowed.

It's only since steamers became mandatory that it's not permissable to terminate over a boundary. The flue in the photo is absolutely fine.

my only issue with it is why did he fit a black plume kit to a white flue, so close to a white conservatory?

we don't know make/model etc. . . . . maybe they're only available in black? A bit petty though don't you think?

I think that the best thing for OP to do now is paint his conservatory like a liqorice allsort also.

Sorry Kev, but that has racialist conatones. he could of used a mixed flue.
