Does anyone know if these are still available? My gas engineer reckons that mine will last 'a couple of years' before it will have to be replaced. He's not sure if they still manufacture them.

Depends which Bermuda? I think most are still available though.

The gasket is probably on its last legs (the seal between the 2 parts of the HX. (A £12 part)

If not, the HX's are available (at a huge cost). A lot of engineers who are not familiar with Back Boilers assume they need replacing when the rubber gasket is all thats required.

Bit of a job - look at £300 to do a gasket. £700 if your investing in another lump of iron.

He reckons it's rusting underneath - can see spots of rust. He applied something but said a repair isn't possible and a new part will soon be needed. He's checking availability but wasn't too hopeful. Does anyone have any useful links - I've been on Baxi's website but it's hard to find anything so I'll try ringing next week.

Try Interpart or Partsarena instead of Baxi's website...
Sure the independent lads on here will know stockists if Im wrong with these two.

They are available, I fitted one only a couple of weeks ago. I picked it up from Parts Center.

Why not take the oppotunity to fit a new boiler? Baxi have just launched a condensing back boiler which looks a reasonable piece of kit.

There's 1000's of these BBUs being replaced, ask around your local heating guys - I'm sure you could pick up one that's been removed.

I seen one in a skip yesterday.
