is it laminated glass? this is normally 6.4mm, you may be measuring it as 7.
you can tell a laminated pane by looking at the edge. you will see the plastic film between 2 sheets of glass.
otherwise you are looking at a 20mm unit - is is to go back into a upvc or timber window?

thanks mate,
its going back into a upvc..872mmx467mm..not365mm

i forgot to mention previously,is there a way of making the unit a little more secure in the frame as you place it back in,although it does seem secure as the seals on the inside hold it tight!
maybe there is a trick of the trade??
cheers

You can get some 1mm double sided tape, pop it in before you put the glass in. Its amazing how hard it is to remove a sealed unit thats been taped into place. :)

HELP FOLKS PLEASE!!!!
i took the unit out today again because the bottom bead wouldnt clip in properly yesterday so i tried to correct,..so after taking the unit out again i began to make a ****** of things and ended up cracking it(ive had a qoute for this unit and the adjacent one and its £40 all in for both.
i couldnt get the beads to clip in proper and started getting stressed,i used the original packers and placed them exactly as they were.
what is the correct way to start things off on reassembly???
ist it window in, then packing(does it have to be an even gap all the way round?),then the beads, then the rubber seals on the inside of the house??
i may be stating the obvious but it seems like you need 3 sets of hands to get the beads on because the top one drops of when you try to clip the sid e one on!!bloody hell,i was chuffed with my self yesterday for having a crack(no pun intended) now im the prize turnip!!haha
thankyou

I'll try and help here rather than all your other posts..

Put the bottom bead in its shuffle groove, pull tight outwards so fully seated, put in packers, then glass, top bead if cut to the full width, then sides. Go inside and glently push glass towards the beads, seating them all fully, then re wedge glasket the inside.

Hopefully job done.

thankyou ..the brickie,
ill have another go at the weekend(weather looks good).local glass place rang me to say windows ready.one has to be gentle with the hammer me thinks..hehe:) ;)
