Worcester Combi 24i Boiler

Hi!
Please help... We turned off our elec supply to our boiler for about a week whilst we moved a plug, went to turn it back on tonight.. NO HOT WATER.
Fan is running in the boiler, cause its making noises, it does light. Then goes off.
We've popped the pressure back up.
We also have no central heating.. again, when we turn this on, it lights, then goes off....
ANY IDEAS!!!

This did happen last winter, the plumber came out, and £60 later, all fixed, Dont really want to pay £60 again

You should have your boiler proffessionaly Serviced Once per Year
Thats going to cost about £65 +Vat,

I dont think you can moan about a £60 fix?

Hmmm I think you are right Stuck for cash this month so the service may have to be next month.. a long to to wait without hot water.

£60 for another year of heating and hot water, sounds pretty good value to me (maybe I'm not such a tight-arce as you)

i would guess a faulty earth or neutral.

Rectification bits warped out of place after years (sounds like se model) would give the same fault. Would also match the £60 repair cost, and a faulty earth appearing after several years would be a bit odd.
Would also match the neglected service.

As you say moved plug if this is in anyway associated with the boiler . As fitz says check wiring is correct and live neutral have not been reversed

I went to a very odd repair last week in a flat where nothing obvious had been done to anything for years!

The brown at the boiler had become neutral !

The fused spur was well painted up and had not been touched for years.

I could not come up with any possible causes but in view of the kind of people living there I did not want to get very involved so just reversed the connection at the boiler to get it working again.
