Hi im just posting this problem for a friend. She has a vodera combi gas boiler and sometimes it works grand but other times when she turns it on notting happends it does not fire and notting come up on the digital panel on the front of the boiler then when you turn off the power again and turn it back on again CO comes up on the digital panel. I presume this is very serious because we are dealing with carbon monoxide. I know i did not give much info but can anyone shine any light on the problem.

My guess would be that it does not show co, but C 0. It is probably a roomsealed boiler, so she is unlikely to die of CO poisoning today.
Let her look in the manual for a fault code: C 0, and tell us what the book says it indicates.

It'll be the linea. It's stuck in it's combustion test mode. Remove the small cap up and right from the display. There's a button behind it. Press it and it stops the CO mode. HOWEVER the display board alsohas a hidden button on it (p2) I think which can fault. Also either main board or display board can cause it. First step is to press the button as usually cures it before youstart replacing pcbs.

Yep your rite it is a balanced flue boiler and it must be a fault code and not carbon monoxide she prob wont have the boiler manual so best call a RGI. I dont know which model it is as she just told me the problem. Does anyone know what the fault C O. could stand for or is it just impossible to say not knowing the model

Thanks ill try that :)

we need to find the model (compact he, unica he, linea he)
are the 3 in the new he range, yours might be different, not a problem, but we need to know the model

as davebgas stated it could well be in combustion test mode, but this only runs iirr 15 mins max and reverts back to normal operation.

but you say that most of the time its not running, while showing C O.

to try to ensure your boiler is serviced every 12 months, vokera have an autostop function that puts combi into a very minimal run pattern, ie you would set it to run 13 months, then autostop would kick in.you would phone vokera, their eng would come out, disable autostop, and service your boiler.

this function has to be programmed into boiler, they dont come out the factory set up for autostop

Yep autostop id say it is because this problem never happened before, then about a year ago the expansion vessel went on it and an engineer came out to replace it and service it and id say he programed autostop into it. They have got it sown up :x

now ye know declan, get him back to take autostop off and get him tae service it for half price or you will kick him in the R S McColls
