RCD Problems on new split load consumer unit

I always though Volex CU's were just Wylex ones, with a Volex sticker added to them?

Thanks Spark, that was exactly the problem. All working fine now. I've learned how to do it....easy when you know innit.

Thanks everybody for your help

BUT BUT BUT

You should NOT be installing a split load consumer unit now. It was OK in 2004 but now, if you swop the consumer unit, it should be installed to the current wiring regs

which for most domestic installs

means

dual RCDs or
RCBOs on all circuits. (there are some exceptions, I know).
