during the blah blah blah he mentioned about how many people had benefited from the warmfront scheme (obviously not the ones who got shafted with the eyesore) Does this mean there's going to be a limited amount of "government appointed" installers allowed to install under the scheme? I bet it's a get rich quick jobbie for those willing to grease palms to get contracts! All you little men bend over now and get ready to take it!!!!

How do I know if my boiler qualifies for the scrappage ££££??

Its a Potterton Suprima 70 About 16 years old....

Wont qualify as not below band g......... coming to think of it which boilers actually are..... I cant think of any. Off to do a bit of research :!:

Curses - and I need a new boiler soon
- thought that Darling man would stump up a wedge.

Another disappointment. Thanks for the info!

Dunno, MrGas.

I first started looking at the Sedbuk list about year ago try and figure out the boiler efficiency of our housing stock. We have bucket load of Solo 2's and that spreadsheet is the only place I could find a classification for them and few other older boilers (like the Baxi 401 & 552).

The Sedbuk database updates quite often, so that could explain the difference between the spreadsheet as of Dec 08 and current Sebuk database.

Up to 125,000 grants will be available.
There are 4,500,000 band G boilers over 15 years old in the country.
2.77%
Once the Corgis have got their families sorted there won't be any grants left for you lot, so forget it.

Is it just a coincidence that BG are supposed to be going after the installation market in a big way next year?...

band g boiler`s are mostly bbu`s i think and baxi have just bought out brand a type hmmm

You are only eligible if you are replacing a working boiler. So tough luck to anyone whose G rated boiler breaks down over the next six months.

Incidentally, there are only two boilers listed in the Sedbuk database with an actual G rating. The rest of the so-called G rated boilers have a big X in the rating column, which indicates that the rating has been estimated using some formula dreamed up by the boffins. My boiler has an estimated efficiency of 72%, so it is just outside the scrappage band (<70%).
