ok, so I was just given a filter coffee maker..

anyone have any recomendations for decent filter coffee?

can you use a filter coffee maker to make tea? surely it's only a case of swapping the coffee grounds for loose tea leaves?

Yes you can make tea with it Col but Coffee I find is a very personal thing. I've tasted stuff (in the past, I don't drink Coffee anymore), that people have recommended and thought it was bloody disgusting so as I say, it's personal.

Best I ever had was Jamaican Blue Mountain which I brought back from our honeymoon. Looked into getting some more over here but it's silly money imported. If you know anyone ever visting Jamaica ask them to fetch you some back.

Lavazza is the classic coffee to buy:

The machine works on forcing the water through the coffee at pressure so I think you'd have to compress the tea down.
I once tried to make a version of cappuccino with tea and frothed milk but it tasted odd...

Did you know your cappuccino is named after this lot:

I remember ducking a low hanging light fitting in their church in Rome, only to realize it was made out of bones too!

doesn't force the water through.. fills up the cone with hot water and it drips through..
and for those that might want to know.. works a treat with 3 tea bags in the filter instead of the coffee grounds...

always wondered why they never put ground coffee into bags like they do with tea... ( for brewing not storing.. )
