Brazil will win the world cup for a 6th time.

Kaka should have his redcard reversed. Unreservedly.

And the reason England will never win the World cup with this squad is this...

We have some excellent players, however, all of our top players are (or were) typically the second best player in the teams they're in... Rooney/Ronaldo, Gerrard/Torres, Lampard/all the othe Chelsea players.. If you put person A into a team that performed well or into a team that didn't, i think person A's performance would be better in the good team, and less good in the bad team. So we should accept that our players are second rate... and taken away from their usual playing partners, will never be world beaters. Taking the analogy to it's extreme, if you took the worst 11 players from the premiership, they'd struggle in the Championship!

But good luck to the guys on Wednesday, we should win that game.

imamartian, what was the last prem match you went to (i.e. attended in person not watched on the box)?

In the games I've watched the ref has made some stupid decision, unfortunately irreversable.

They should also stop the red card against Kahill (USA)

Italy/Newzealand. How can you have a player at this level, offside in the penalty box and not be interferring with play.
I guess if the ball bounced off the post afterwards he was NOT going to kick it, or the goal would later be disallowed after a chat with the linesman. Not likely

There were a 100? fouls by the Ivory Coast and a Brazilian gets sent off for something the Ref didn't see.

I wish the fans would harden up and get these stupid mistakes sorted out with the FA.

This lovelly game is made a farce of, by a biggoted load of officials.

Come on fans get control of your game!!!!

i don't support a premiership side, so it's been many years.... why do you ask?

I do think that, in this day and age of technology, there is a case to be made for instant replay technology. Lots of other sports now benefit from this. Football should be no different. I'm sure it would go a long way to stopping the shirt pulling, diving etc by players and would sort out some very dubious decisions made by referee's and linesmen.
Contrary to popular belief, I'm sure it wouldn't hold up the game much more than it already is.
Some players fall to the ground, writhing in apparent agony after the slightest knock. Instant replays have shown players doing this when there's been absolutely no contact either.
PS , had instant replay been available to the referee in the infamous Argentina/ England match, Maradonna's " hand of god " goal would have been disallowed and he'd have been given the red card.

I think you're right JJ, even we're getting almost instand slo-mo images of the action. And if the ref had to go to a fifth official, then it would clean up the game instantly, and stop this obvious notion we have at the moment that cheats prosper.

And why not make the fourth official handle any substitutions whilst play continues, that would stop time wasting.

And why not stop the clock rather than adding time on? Time wasting ruins a lot of games.

How many years? And who is it you support? I ask because I'm curious about a few of the conclusions you've made in your opening post.

That character who cheated so unashamedly to get Kaka sent off should now be told that he is banned from not just this world cup, but the next one his country qualify for as well. With all of the cameras on them now that would stop this kind of despicable cheating at a stroke.

If he were English he would never play for his country again.

Do you remember why Rodney Marsh's career was cut short?

Alf Ramsey: "Rodney, if you don't work harder I'll pull you off at half-time."

Rodney Marsh: "Core blimey Alf! - at QPR we get a cup of tea and a slice of orange."

FIFA worked out long ago that football is inherently boring...therefore, in order to retain a bit of misplaced 'excitement', they rely on a Ref to provide the controversy - and then get slated for it..

Same principle been going on ever since they fed christians to the lions...

I'm not saying who i support. But i have supported them for 40 years or so. I'm now intrigued as to what you think i have got wrong(?) in my opening post.....

I reckon that players in the opposing team get together and have a sweep stack on which player they can get sent off. Each opposing player is rated so someone like Kaka gets 10 points and when he is sent off the "winning player" gets say a thousand pounds/dollars from each of the other players.

I guess getting a player elliminated for a few games has got to be worth it.

Its difficult to see on tele when its going to happen but that Kaka incident was a wonderful illustration of what I mean.

I do remember Ronaldo boasting last time when he got Rooney red carded.

Bullseye.

I also remember Rooney had to eat dirt in declaring his friendship with Ronaldo afterwards.

Rooney reckons he'd tried to gey Ronaldo sent off earlier.

I think some teams have a sweep stake to see who's ankle or shin they can break with a late tackle.

Get to the point sun shine!

I haven't pushed it Blas, because i can feel a rather patronising lesson in football coming on
