Non-visible hole in bath, possible?

I've just installed a fibreglass shower bath from Wickes, it is in situ, sealed around all edges and plumbed in - I happened to take a peak underneath it last night before fitting the bath front panel and noticed a drop by one of the legs, the leg is screwed into the reinforced thick layer of fibreglass underneath, on the upperside of the bath there isn't any damage to the surface layer nor any hole visible.

The water appears to be coming from the underside of the bath and not a stream from any other part of the installation and so I'm a bit confused, access isn't great to the underside so I am yet to investigate further but I am wondering if water can permeate fibreglass without any visible hole for penetration?

I am considering smearing the underside area involved with silicone sealant to ensure that the leak is prevented.

First of all, what rotten luck!
If fibreglass is laid down properly, then it is completely impervious to water.
The legs of the bath are likely to be screwed into some chipboard, which has been glassed over when the bath was made.
Is it possible for one of the screws to have penetrated the bath shell, do you think? If definitely not, then you have a faulty product.
Applying silicone sealer to the bottom of the bath is unlikely to have a lasting effect, unfortunately.

Hey John, yeah really bad luck, unless I'm missing something but having examined the bath last night, the leak did appear to be coming out from under the bath - I'm going to remove the leg tonight and fill the bath to see whether there is a drip from that location, or alternatively a run from somewhere else, hopefully it'll be the latter.

There isn't a single defect on the upperside of where the leg connects, the surface is absolutely smooth and unmarked and so perhaps it is a leak running from somewhere else, I'll find out and let ya know!

Check the leak is not coming from the waste and leaking across the underside of the bath and coming down the leg?

I actually took it all apart this weekend and couldn't find any sign of a leak, it may have just been a fluke that the leg ended up wet but I'll keep an eye!
