we have a triniton T100i (about 10 years old - could be older) shower that keeps cutting out mid shower! The light saying low pressure shows. We live in 2nd floor flat but have asked neighbours if they have had any problems with water pressure - they haven't.

Does anyone have any advice or information about what is wrong?

Many thanks

Andrew

Inlet filter may well be blocked, do you have hardwater and limescale issues in your area?

I assume that no one is turning on the kitchen cold tap when you are finding you have low pressure

no one is turning the kitchen cold tap on,as far as i know we dont have any hardwater or limescale problems.
The pressure is fine for about a min, then switches off with the low pressure light coming on.

Even when i put the shower onto cold it will do the same.

If you live in London unless you have a water softener installed you will have very hard water and lime scaling issues.

Check the filter as advised and also ensure the service valve is open fully or not scaled up.

solenoid coils failing.
test the solenoid coil in it's failed state with a multi meter.
should read 3.4 kohms or above.

i take when you say cutting out you mean just the water flow
then the shower will resume flow again after a period of time.

solenoid coils knackered and will only get worse to a state of not working at all.

new coil £15
10 mins to fit.

PS. A blocked filter will give a constant low pressure neon
as opposed to a flow for a min then low pressure neon.
