Hi All

Just got round to finally trying to remove my flow sensor/switch on my saunier duval. Managed to take it apart, it looked fine, couldnt find any fault with it.

Put it back together however now whenever i turn on the cold water via the isolation valve on the cold water inlet, it squirts water from the area i have pointed to on the arrow, where the flow switch enters the black plastic housing!

Any ideas guys how to stop this?!! The water is going everywhere!!!

I am glad that it was not me who suggested that you touched that part!

Aparently my Foleshill shed has fallen apart!

managed to sort the problem! Took it apart again, had a good look, the electic seal/washer was not pushed back far enough so the retaining clips were not holding the thing in place!

Agile the flow sensor seemed to be ok.took it apart, it moved freely, no debri or anything.

I've noticed not when i turn the heating on, the water appear to heat up, but is not leaving the boiler. Checked the internal pump, that heats up, the pipes around it heat up, but the water does not reach the central heating flow pipe just at it leaves the boiler.

Any more clues on what may be the issue?

Or will i have to get someone out.....possible even Agile himself?!

I don't know what your boiler is - that's what you get if you start new threads - but check the diverter valve if there is one, and take the head off the pump. It could be blocked or the impeller could be loose.
Also see if there's a return filter - could be clogged.

Hi Chris, its a saunier duval f30 thermoclassic

I've done all the abovethe diverter valve seems to move freely, taken the head of the pump, the pin appears to come out and go in correctly.

I work in IT full time, Only plumbing for the past 2 years or so after doing my city and guilds level 2. However due to finding it hard to find anyone who will take me on as an apprentice on a part time basis (weekends, evenings) i've decided to go it alone. I'm pretty confident in my plumbing ability and have been doing whatever jobs i get given, installed a few bathrooms, few showers, taps, kitchen, etc etc.

However as i am not working with another plumber, i do have a lot of questions and this is the only place i can really come to for help/tips.

As a side note, turned on the heating this morning, its working fine, turned on the water, its working fine!!!

Taking apart and putting back the water flow sensor appears to have solved the problem!!! (for now)!

what do you mean Lawrence?

I would think he means that if you'd done it right, it would work!
Sounds like something just unstuck itself, or... who knows.

You'll probably find the time-served old groats will have a go at you from time to time - take no notice!
