Worcester Bosch 24CDi - hot water but no heating

To be honest, 12 years old on a combi is considered to be at the end of its life to be fair, which I know is something not all people want to hear.

I would never have a combi in my house ever and when people ask for one I install it for them but only ever after pointing out the drawbacks and lifespan of the appliance is one of them

i have a different opinion. if the parts are available and it's not a safety risk it hasn't seen the end of it's lifespan yet.

I beleive the saying is ' good money after bad'.........

hardly. a pcb even on a ****box like the cdi is hardly pushing the boat out.

Thanks, i'll get someone round. I would love to have a new boiler but the fact is i don't have the money for that, the labour and then as we live in an old house we would need to change some of the pipes as they are not large enough for some of the new boilers apparently, the flue and location of the boiler may be an issue (the flue foor a condensing boiler may comes out too close to the top of the house next door or something as its in the attic currently)... all the new regs make for an expensive new boiler. I'll be doing what i can until it packs up altogether.

To be honest, i don't think looking back the pump etc needed to be changed or the pcb as that was also done but when a someone who is apparently an expert in their field tells you it does, what do you say. They all encourage replacing the boiler and then taking out monthly payments to cover a new one and it becomes very expensive.

Thanks at least for your attempts at what you think might be the problem :)

On a heat only I'd agree with that statement.

On a 12 year old combi with a host of things just WAITING to pack up......sorry mate, no.

agree to disagree then. impossible to say if it's a folly without seeing it.
