May everybody do a little something for elderly neighbours - even something as small as taking their bin out for the rubbish man to empty and replacing the bin afterwards.

Today my preparations for Christmas must commence, hence will not be posting directly to this great site with excellent contributors.

I may be contacted directly by email if any clarification of post I have submitted is required.

Merry Christmas and may your New Year be better than the last! :D

PS Back on line on 2nd January, 2011

An elderly neighbour isn't just for Christmas.........

Lucia.

I've done my bit, changed the 94 year old lady next doors CU for free after her old wooden MEM one went up in smoke - shouldn't make a habit of freebies but there are those rare occasions when you realise you've helped someone who really deserves it (she worked at Bletchley in WW2).

Anyway a merry xmas to you electrician direct and all the other sparks and DIY enthusiasts out there.

:D You're not wrong, I changed the old lady across the roads sitting room light a while back, I also cut her hedge when it's needed. i went over to see if she was ok in the snow last week and she'd already cleared her path and she's over 80

This is definately my last post of the year... When living in South London one of my jobs was at a sheltered accommodation place in Kent. I met and become great friends with a wee, but very spritely, Scottish Lady. One day I asked why she didn't attend a club with her neighbours and her response was "Ock mann... Just because I'm old they think I'm an idiot or something..." and we continued with our lunch break game of chess.

You're all great people! Don't forget to enjoy a bit yourselves
