Hi today turned on the hot tap in the bathroom and there was nothing just a little amount of water as you would get if there was no water in the tank now noticed this in all the hot taps in the house, the cold is ok the heating is ok the boiler is not a combi and the hot tank is upstairs confused as to what it may be any help much appreciated

The large header tank in the loft must be full to replace the water that comes out hot from your copper cylinder.

Do instructions below:

Close all taps in house.
Place hand under kitchen mixer spout.
Open hot tap.
Open cold tap, slowly letting the water go up the hot side.
Do above for 30 seconds.
Turn off cold tap.
Remove hand to see hot tap push out any air that is trapped.

Many thanks for coming back and letting me know, you're more than welcome.

It seems the abuse wasn't necessary.
