Hi I have a crumbling drain inspection chamber which is shedding bits of concrete into the drain with obvious consequences, I have tried 4/1 sand cement 4/1 sharp sand cement but it still cracks away after the frosts , what mix materials should I use so this wont happen ?
Thanks in anticipation of answers

Benching is the concrete at the bottom of the chamber that slopes up from the half channel.

Yes if that's the name for the concrete that surrounds the chamber which is crumbling.
it`s not that - it`s render - and hasn`t been used on inside of manholes for donkeys years - probably in the 1940`s last  They went to rendering the outside of the brickwork because it all comes off like yours is  Just chip it off and leave the brickwork alone ;)

If just trying to gob up the face of the chamber, anything you try to use will just get blown off after a while.

If you want something to actually stick, then you will need some sort of epoxy mortar product, and a sound keyed wall to stick it to

But is this job really necessary?
