Recently purchased a new cooker (Hotpoint). The minute minder "beep" is practically inaudible. Have seen reviews on other Hotpoint cookers with the same complaint. I am somewhat deaf but my wife still has perfect hearing - even she has great difficulty hearing the "beep" . Have bought 2 digital timers - both better than the cooker but not really loud enough. Any suggestions? Maybe a mains operated timer might have a bit more power (but where available?) , or could one of the bought ones be in some way connected to a louder "beeper" ?

Many thanks, Taylortwocities, for prompt reply. Didn't understand what was happening - the address you quoted went to a Google search engine, but eventually arrived at a firm named Cole-Parmer. They appear to have what we require - have written to them at their London address.
Thanks again
John

This is how we search the internet for the things you want

You may find you can change the beep volume. You can on my 'New World' cooker. Check your instruction manual...

The solution isn't to get a louder timer.

It is to set the portable timer and then put it in your pocket, so you can hear it wherever you happen to be.

Get a louder siren and wire it into the oven. We have ovens at work that sound like a burglar alarm when they finish cooking.
