Theres 3 billion new oil consumers to be catered for who were not here about 5 years ago.
The Indians and the Chinese. Thats the real reason oil prices are going up.

and there are nine million bicycles in Beijing, so I am told!

Its closer to 13 million.
Wonder what price a gallon of petrol will be when theres 13 million cyclists in the UK??

I was watching the Sky news channel, intermittantly, and the oil price ranged from high to 0.010%, which means no increase. But an excuse for the oil companies to use a situation, and the Governments, to rake in the cash over media led trivia.

These dictator countries kick off, for no reason, then blame Bin laden, Egypt gets taken to a no control state, Lisbon follows suit, then Libya. WE in the UK have NO current leader. Cameron is out of the country, selling weapons to these people, and Clegg, the person in charge, in his absence, says, "Am I running the country?" Durr!

I suggest an uprising in England, about all the cuts that are being made, and the rising fuel prices. Refineries were blockaded a few years ago for lesser prices at the pumps. LET US FORCE OUT UNELECTED PEOPLE OUT OF GOVERNMENT AND RISE ABOVE THE TAXES THAT THE BANKERS PUT UPON US. LET THE BANKERS PAY, WHEN THEY AWARD THEMSELVES MILLIONS IN BONUSES, AND PAY 1% TAX, WHEN WE ARE TOLD 'TIGHTEN YOUR BELTS, CHOOSE CHARITY, REIGN IT IN'

Let's be fair Joe, the last Labour government, did all they could to get rid of the benefit of actually having a job.

what everyone fails to realise is that oil like everything else on this planet is a finite resource and sooner or later output will start to reduce especially as
god forbid people in what we think of as poorer nations per person :China, India actually start to demand and PAY for their share of it as well.

People especially in the West notably the US have got fat and lazy expecting cheap oil and running huge gas guzzling Cars to be available forever.

People use their cars for Everything, in parts of the US if you are seen walking you are seen as having to be either crazy or dirt poor


The simple answer is USE less...do you really need to use your car to go to the corner shop or down the road.


The UK is following the US and people are becoming fat unfit lumps like those people on the spaceship in the film WALL-E (great movie by the way).



Cars used to be a luxury item now lots of households have 2 or more.

If people were not such slobs they could probably get by quite comfortably with using their cars a whole lot less

Only problem with your argument spacecat is that people in China and India , are paying far less than per litre for fuel , than we here in the UK are paying.
Bear in mind, the billions in monetary aid, this country gives to India ( a country that has both nuclear, and space programs, yet lets 95% of it's citizens live in poverty).
We all know (or are told by those who supply it) that oil is a finite resource. Let's wait and see what India and China do when it finally runs out. They'll be in the same boat as the rest of the world then.
Does China , with it's needs for raw materials seem to be thinking of the future of this planet? Hmm I don't think so.

I do not understand your right wing comments Joe? So you are supporting dictatorship? If you lose your job, you are worthless to society, and should be shot? or starved?

I go to dole school, to use a computer that I can't email from for a job, and the advisor is clueless.

Now, due to Government cuts, many more thousands of people are on the dole, manufacturing has gone from this country, call centres are being relocated abroad, wheres the jobs? Let's check reality eh Joe? Are you living in wonderland? I suppose it's fulfilling to mock the weaker of society, out of work, when I could probably do your job at the drop of a hat? Cheaper, and more Efficiently.

I never said that china and india were any better than us in fact they are huge polluters but then again so are we, they are just exercising their right to be as bad as us

As for billions of monetary aid, I don't think so and this country has stolen multi billions in terms of natural resources from india and half the world

This is something i noted a few days ago after the big $110's a barrel

Idle curiosity I just look at historic fuel prices
In 2010 Feb oil is $103 a barrel and Diesel is an average of £1.34
BUT

In 2008 July oil was $146!!! a barrel and Diesel was an average of £1.33!!


Somewhere we getting screwed again and someone is making money???
