I dont think everyone here has the same views , surely. Well views might be the wrong term but this attitude cant be across the board.

Its highly Prevalent put it that way

What gets me is the obvious use of religion to hide undertones of ignorance and racism. I wonder if their views/attitudes are the same towards English white Muslims?

Thing is, do any of us relate to coming from 'Union Jack' land? i thought we were all for the Cross of St George, the Saltire, or Y Ddraig Goch these days...

now if the doormat was St Georges Cross i would be p'd off !!

Although I dont share your sentiment about the St George Cross your comment about UNION JACKLAND actually shows what a bunch of ignoramuses inhabit this forum...they doent even know their own flag!

I have to admit spacecat , I dont know the difference, but then again I'm not English and where I come from we only have one flag.

When you think about it , even a union jack towel could be seen as inappropriate because you dry your wet arse with it.

ok, should that be union FLAG land? or pound land? or Disney land?
whoops, did i get my flag wrong?

so what's your flag spacecat?

how do you compare a flag to a religious book

You tell me smart arze...HOW DID I?

I was making a point about freedom of expression...and the lack of it where certain subjects are concerned. You and your new mate are quick and righteous to brand anything you see as anti muslim racist. What do you say about the religous lunatics who want to kill people for writing a book, or drawing a cartoon, or even publishing it. Never mind the ones who want to blow planes full of people up, or fly them into buildings. Or blow up nightclubs full of people or buses, or trains. In this day and age Islam produces more murderous fanatical lunatics than any other religion I can think of.
But hey, let's not offend them.

In all fairness mate , you didnt but it did look as if you tried to.
Also freedom of expression? Lets assume you mean speech? Ok then , even freedom of expression does not cover freedom to get a reaction through insult. Do you really think you are special enough not to qualify and are allowed the freedom to insult people you dont even know?
The French cartoons were designed to insult and raise reaction, I find it hard to believe you didnt know this in the first place?

If i'd have meant "freedom of speech" I'd have typed "freedom of speech"
Let's try not to be too patronising shall we.

What if they were? Do you not think there is something badly wrong with ANY supposedly grown up person who will want to react by killing the supposed "infidel"? And you could probably count the amount of people who fall into that category in the many thousands if not millions. Doesn't that say more about them?

Firstly , where did you get that thousands/millions figure from? There is a vast difference between thousands and millions.
Secondly , Do you personally know any one person who practices the Muslim faith , who after seeing the cartoons , wanted to go and kill someone?
Thirdly , do you really believe its OK to incite violence in such a way as the people who released those cartoons did then when they got the reaction they were seeking should they be allowed to walk away free from any responsibility?

Im not saying the reaction they got was right or wrong, Im saying it was wrong to pursue that reaction in the first place.

The many thousands if not millions figure was obviously a very rough guesstimate, based on the many violent protests across the islamic world at the time.

Do you personally know any one person who practices the Muslim faith , who after seeing the cartoons , wanted to go and kill someone?
Salman Rushdie probably knows a few.

The reaction to the cartoons, books, whatever, says more about the mindset of the religious loons as far as I'm concerned. Islam seems to inspire fanaticism more than anything else currently, which makes it very fckin dangerous.

Fanatics inspire fanaticism fella. Otherwise you could also argue that Catholicism inspires child abuse , which it obviously doesn't.

What made me think about the Danish cartoonist ,who reportedly drew some cartoons of Mohammed was... If no one is supposed to draw pictures or images of Mohammed,,, then how the hell do Muslims know what he looks like in the first place??????

Of course YOU DID YOU NUTTER!
One minute were are talking about a doormat from ALDI the next you are dragging ISLAM into the argument AGAIN!

Did muslims make the ALDI doormat? I doubt it ?

You are obsessed with them some might say fanatical!

Why don't you set up an anti islam website and be done with it?

It seems to dominate your every thought

What you also NEVER ask is why do SOME muslims feel like this
maybe its because they see the western invasion of their countries under the pretence of regime change but in reality for OIL which has killed 100s of thousands of people to be intolerable

Irish Catholics did the same for years

Basically if you f#$k with people what do you expect
I'm sure if we left them alone they would do likewise
