This is an old thread but I happened upon it because I was wondering exactly the same thing and this forum came up in my search. The main difference between the Makita BHR202 and the BHR241 that I eventually discovered is that the BHR202 draws only 8 amps whereas the BHR241 draws 11.7 amps.
So you get more bang for your buck (or quid) with the 241 and that's the model I chose for my usage which is to drill rock like granite & basalt for rock climbing anchors. And yes the BHR241 can drill a 3/8" bolt hole in granite like a hot knife through butter.
