Many in the public sector are about to commence a 24 hour strike.

I doubt it will be any different from a normal days work for most of them

The school teacher I am working for this week would not be agreeing with you on that one.

well where was public sector when gordon raid our pensions to pay pubilc sector pensions
guess who i don`t care about

Being the careworkers superior, I would fully support their decision. But you don't have to worry, I will ensure you get priority treatment on Friday, in an attempt to stop you coming on here and trying to be antagonistic.

In the meantime try and keep away from the Alarm forum - they have got the measure of you!

Never mind, the football season commences in a few weeks - you can dribble and discuss dribbling then

Have a good summer holiday.

Well it seems the strike has had very little impact, as expected.

The good thing about the strike is it has saved the rest of us paying them a days wages!

I wonder if those teachers look at the kids and think the sooner these grow up and start paying taxes the better for my pension.... but not theirs.

My wife's a teacher, & has been for nearly 40 years. she looks at the kids & hopes that their parents have taught them basic behavioral standards.
Imagine taking on a new build & near the end of the job being told that a garage was now part of the contract for free & your price has been lowered by 10%. That approximates the govt approach to teachers & negotiation doesn't enter into it.
Phillip Hammond M.P. the transport minister mentioned on question time tonight that " a teacher on a £32,000 pension--" . What?????
That is utter utter tosh -only the highest management get anything approaching that, most teachers get less than half.
We are doing the dirty work of the govt in arguing among ourselves, when we should focus on the corruption & self interest of those in power.

Is that a rhetorical question Nige?
Your free market economy died with the collapse of the banks, the population of this country bailed them out.
