If we can all be civil, for what could be a change for once, perhaps there is something to be learnt from this...

Perhaps a specific insult room on the forum where you can get it off your chest and accuse someone’s mother of being a slapper while the rest talk about the topic would be a breath of fresh air.

I like a good laff and an insult is ok by me too. Tact, as they say, is knowing how far to go too far. Maybe more pearls and less grit sometimes though, as in my earlier link/example...

I did engage in a game here yonks ago but guess what? It descended into personal attacks/remarks and I have been censorious of them ever since.

The latest one I took an interest in, for example, is this and sure enough it soon became handbags at six feet and the topic became secondary.

And now that one is locked for some reason. Maybe something more was posted and then removed that I missed overnight.

I wouldn't be surprised Paul. I haven't gone back to look because it went off at a character-assassinating tangent; as so often happens.

Another thing I've noticed is when certain posters come on, like Mickmoody for instance, it becomes open season. I don't know the guy and maybe he's a bit, (insert choice word here). But again, from my limited experience here, when he comes on the blue touch paper gets lit.

I'll leave it there because I'm not a gossip and 'who gossips with you will gossip of you'...
