:?: My current shower is gravity fed and I want to add a pump.
Can I buy a pump that I could just fit in line in the attic. I know there needs to be a special valve for the cylinder, but do I need to add another water tank as well to increase the head of water?

It depends on how big a tank you have up there already. Adding another tank is unlikey to increase the "head", unless the new tank is 10m above the old one (10m=1bar of pressure), but will increase the capacity of water available if needs be.

It will almost certainly be possible to fit a pump but there are many factors which dictate how & where you fit it, what type/size pump you need, pipe work routes & if you need to increase the size of your HW/CW storage tanks.

It's impossible to advise with so little information & if it’s going to work & stay working for any length of time, the pump needs to be correctly installed. It’s not rocket science but neither is it as simple as sticking a pump in the attic (not the best place anyway) & I suggest you either call in a professional or do a lot more research before embarking on a DIY pump install.

Thanks Richard> I'll take your advice and contact a professional. :)

Thanks for this, I had thought the extra volume of water might add some pressure. I had another reply which recommended contacting a professional, which I will do.
